Job description

A shapers day begins at 8 a.m. at the valley lift station in Flachauwinkl:
 
At 8:30 a.m. in the park: all fences must be closed, safety checks in the park are carried out with the head shaper and if necessary small shaping amendments are made.
From 9:30 a.m. the park should be open. From 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon changes to the individual obstacles are made, damaged rails are repaired, work is carried out in the Stash, competition set-ups prepared and anything else that may be necessary. From approx. 12 noon to 1 p.m. lunch break.
1 p.m. reshaping of the various obstacles.
At 3 p.m. the half-pipe is closed off and we support the piste machines in their work. At 4 p.m. the lifts are closed: all fences are opened, all obstacles are shaped (Absolut Park and the Stash) and the Chill House is tidied up
The day finishes at approx. 6 p.m.
That’s more or less what a normal day looks like. The delegation of the tasks is down to the head shaper. You usually only have time for free skiing in your lunch break and on your days off. If you do not live locally we can help you look for accommodation. Pay is appropriate for a 40 hour week allowing you to live relatively comfortably. 
A job in the Alps in one of the most famous and best snow parks in Europe is a unique opportunity and offers a great deal of fun and variety.

Shaper profil

The minimum age for this job is 18. Applicants must have a category B driving license and must have successfully completed an apprenticeship or technical education at a vocational training college (preferably as a bricklayer, carpenter, joiner, metalworker, electrician or mechanic etc.) 
The applicant should be a snowboard or free-ski enthusiast, willing to work with people, friendly and communicative. This is absolutely imperative for the daily contact with our customers and the members of the freestyle scene.
It goes without saying that motivation, initiative and flexibility are prerequisites for the job and these assets are expected of you by the entire park team.  
English or other foreign languages are an advantage but not absolutely necessary.
Additional useful qualifications would be: ski or snowboard instruction training.

The ski towns of Flachau, Kleinarl, Zauchensee, Altenmarkt, Wagrain and St. Johann are all directly connected to Flachauwinkl by ski bus. If you have your own car with you, then Radstadt, Schladming (Federal State of Styria), Bischofshofen, Werfen and even more ski resorts as far as the City of Salzburg are also within easy driving distance and well worth a visit.
