RECAP 2025
Zoi Sadowski-Synnott wins the Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup final at Absolut Park
After spring-like and perfect conditions during the first half of the week at the Absolut Park Spring Battle, winter returns on Thursday, bringing challenging conditions for the Slopestyle World Cup Premiere in Flachau 2025. On Thursday, the women's qualification is held as planned, but for the men, the event has to be canceled after the first run due to poor visibility and heavy snowfall. On Friday, the event is called off entirely. For the women, the qualification results are counted as the final results.
Zoi Sadowski-Synnott (NZL) takes the win after an impressive performance in the qualification. With spectacular tricks on the rails, including a Frontblunt 450 on the High Rail, a Switch Lipslide Underflip on the Cannon Rail, and a Backside Doublecork 10 Melon on the final jump, she beats Absolut Park Team rider Annika Morgan (GER), who knows the mountain like the back of her hand: "It's so cool to stand on the podium in Absolut Park in its anniversary year, especially because I have so many great childhood memories tied to it, like when I was at boarding school and got to train here. Now I'm an Absolut Park Team rider, which makes it even more special." Mari Fukada from Japan takes third place. With her win in Flachau, Zoi secures her first small crystal globe in the Slopestyle discipline standings: "It feels unreal to take the crystal globe home.“ She also raves about her time at Absolut Park: "It was an incredible week and really fun, especially having a World Cup right after the Spring Battle." The 18-year-old Mia Brookes (GBR) takes the overall World Cup victory, adding the big crystal globe to her Big Air discipline title after a stellar season.
The men's Slopestyle event is completely canceled due to the late winter weather. This allows Taiga Hasegawa from Japan to claim his first overall World Cup title, while Canadian Cameron Spalding celebrates winning the small crystal globe for the Slopestyle discipline.
