Slopestyle Wins for Mia Brookes and Justus Henkes
The AbsolutPark Spring Battle 2026 reached its peak with a spectacular award show livestreamed from Dips&Drops in Flachau. At one of the most renowned events in the international freestyle snowboard scene, Mia Brookes (GBR) and Justus Henkes (USA) claimed victory in the Slopestyle competition.
A Highlight Event in the International Snowboard Scene
The Spring Battle at AbsolutPark is a key fixture in the global freestyle snowboard calendar. With a total $80,000 cash prize and double WSPL points, the event attracts top riders from around the world and offers both high-level progression and strong incentives.
Around 120 athletes competed in this year’s edition, facing constantly changing weather conditions—from deep winter setups to sunny spring sessions with soft snow. Strategic timing was crucial, as riders had to deliver their best runs at exactly the right moment.
A unique feature of the event: the start area functioned like a high-tech control hub, managing multiple FPV drones that captured dynamic follow-cam footage throughout
the course.
Mia Brookes Dominates Women’s Slopestyle
After already taking the win at the Spring Battle Rail Jam, Mia Brookes continued her dominance in Slopestyle. With outstanding style on the rails and technical highlights such as a Backside 1260 and Cab 1080 on the kickers, she secured a convincing victory.
She was also awarded the crowd-voted “FLYP Most Picked Athlete”, underlining her standout performance throughout the event.
Second place went to rising US talent Lily Dhawornvej, while Melissa Peperkamp (NED) claimed third.
Justus Henkes Delivers One of the Best Runs of the Event
In the men’s competition, Justus Henkes took the win with an exceptional Slopestyle run, combining technical difficulty with creativity and flow.
His run stood out in particular for executing all rail features switch, including a Switch BS 450 on the Rainbow Rail. He backed this up with a Hardway BS 1080 and a Nosebutter Frontside 1260 on the kickers.
“I’ve been coming to Spring Battle for over six years, and it’s always an amazing event. Winning here feels incredible,” said Henkes after the award ceremony.
Second place went to Rocco Jamieson (NZL), followed closely by Niek van der Velden (NED) in third.
