The Next Step in Freestyle – The Medium Line at AP

Reading time: 2 minutes (approx. 120 seconds) | Flachauwinkl, Salzburg

You’ve got your first tricks dialled in and want to take your riding to the next level? The Medium Line at AbsolutPark Flachauwinkl offers the right setup to learn new tricks, improve your technique and build confidence on a variety of features, step by step.

As an intermediate line, it combines jib features and jumps into a varied run. It’s not about rushing towards the biggest obstacles as quickly as possible, but about developing your skills, riding cleaner lines and taking on new challenges with confidence and control.

Located right at the top station of the Absolut Shuttle, the Medium Line runs down to the bottom station of the Powder Shuttle. It’s a key part of the freestyle offering at AbsolutPark, giving snowboarders and freeskiers the opportunity to develop their skills and progress with purpose.

Jibs, Jumps & Progression

The Medium Line is designed for riders who already have some snowpark experience and want to take their skills to the next level. The setup combines different types of features, adding variety to every run.

Rather than focusing on individual tricks, riders can work on their entire run: judging their speed, hitting the take-off cleanly, controlling the landing and preparing for the next feature. This combination of technique, timing and repetition makes the Medium Line an important part of freestyle progression.

Three Sections, One Versatile Setup

  Jib Section Upper Part
  Jump Section
  Jib Section Lower Part

According to the current official snowpark status, the Medium Line is divided into three sections: an upper jib section, a jump section and a lower jib section. Together, they combine different freestyle elements into one continuous line.

  Jib Section Upper Part

The upper jib section offers a varied mix of rail variations, wallrides and hips. The range of features encourages riders to get creative, link their own lines and find their personal flow. With variety and creativity at the forefront, every run is an opportunity to try new lines and bring your own style to the park.

  Jump Section

The jump section features three jumps with tables ranging from 6 to 12 metres. The setup delivers plenty of airtime and allows riders to hit all three jumps back to back in one line. The focus is on smooth runs, creative trick combinations and maximising airtime.

  Jib Section Lower Part

After the jump section, the lower jib section continues with a varied selection of rails and boxes. The different feature variations offer plenty of ways to link creative lines and bring your own style into the run. By combining airtime with varied jib features, the Medium Line delivers a versatile freestyle flow from top to bottom.

The Right Step Between Beginner and Pro

Not every rider needs to jump straight into the biggest jumps or the most technical rails. Good progression starts with finding the right challenges to develop your skills at your own pace.

The Medium Line is officially classified as Intermediate. It’s ideal for riders who already have some snowpark experience and want to build on their skills. If you’re just starting out, it’s best to begin with easier features and stick to obstacles that match your ability level.

At AbsolutPark, different areas cater to different skill levels. The Lil’ Stash is aimed primarily at kids and beginners, while the Jib Park offers features across a range of difficulty levels. The Medium Line provides another option for controlled progression, while the Pro Line is an expert-level setup designed for demanding freestyle riding.

The goal isn’t to move on to the next line as quickly as possible, but to find the right challenges and keep improving your riding over time.

The Right Line for Your Progression

The Medium Line is more than a combination of jibs and jumps. It offers a versatile setup where riders can improve their technique, timing and flow while working on new tricks step by step. As an intermediate line, it’s an important part of AbsolutPark for freeskiers and snowboarders looking to develop their freestyle skills. Whether you’re aiming for cleaner landings, more control on jibs or smoother runs, the key is finding the right challenges and a setup that matches your ability level.

As with all snowpark areas, only ride features that match your skills, judge your speed and approach carefully, and follow the park rules and instructions from the Shape Crew. Before your visit, check the current snowpark status, as available features and open sections can change depending on snow conditions, weather and ongoing shaping work.
